What is Shipment Storage

"Shipment Storage" means the storage of Shipment Goods. When goods are transported from one location to another, sometimes they may need to be stored for a period of time in transit or at the destination until they are further processed, distributed or delivered to the final recipient. In this case, the goods are placed in a temporary storage location, a process known as "Shipment Storage".

Shipment Storage can appear in different logistics links and industries, including freight, supply chain management, international trade, etc. Here are some common situations:

Transit warehouse: When the goods need to be transferred to different means of transportation during transportation, or need to wait for specific conditions to be met, the goods can be temporarily stored in the transit warehouse.

Sea and air freight: International sea and air freight usually takes a certain amount of time to complete, and due to different reasons (such as customs clearance, transportation planning, etc.) the goods may need to be stored at the port or airport for a period of time.

Warehousing and distribution centers: In supply chains, goods are usually stored for a period of time in distribution centers or warehouses, waiting to be distributed to different retailers or end users.

Temporary delay in delivery: Sometimes, the final recipient of the goods may not be able to receive them immediately, so the goods need to be stored at some point in the supply chain until the recipient is ready to receive.
